Ubrix founder Highly Commended in Innovate UK's Women in Innovation Awards

Ubrix founder and CEO Kate Murray has been Highly Commended in Innovate UK's Women in Innovation programme, placing among the top 100 applicants from a field of more than 1,600 women founders across the UK. The recognition reflects the strength of the Ubrix vision: one source of truth for every plot, from reservation to aftercare.

What Women in Innovation is

Women in Innovation is Innovate UK's flagship programme backing women who are building businesses with the potential to change their industries. It is one of the most competitive founder programmes in the country. This year, more than 1,600 women applied and 100 were successful.

Being placed in that group is national recognition that the problem Ubrix solves matters, and that our approach to solving it stands up to serious scrutiny.

Why this matters for housebuilding

The award was never about Ubrix as a piece of software. It was about the industry problem behind it.

New build housing still runs on disconnected spreadsheets, inboxes and point solutions. Sales, build, compliance and aftercare each hold their own version of the truth, and the plot record fragments across all of them. Buyers feel it in slow updates and unresolved defects. Housebuilders feel it in rework, risk and reputational damage.

Ubrix puts the entire plot lifecycle on a single source of truth. Sales progression, build tracking, energy compliance per plot, smart forms, defect management and resident self serve, all working from one record. That is the case Innovate UK assessed, and the case they commended.

What happens next

The recognition comes with more than a title. Ubrix has accepted Innovate UK Business Growth support, giving us access to specialist advisers and a national innovation network as we scale from SME housebuilders through to enterprise developers and housing associations.

Our focus has not changed. We are building the platform that new build housing should have had a decade ago, and we are doing it from the North East of England.
